33. Split Party
Wed Jun 24, 2015, 05:14 PM
Jun 2015

So, there WAS no other outcome.NEWS FLASH: Global money power rules. Real world. No "elected" official can buck them and survive to do further positive work. It is all a trade off. Always has been. To suggest progressives should "leave the party" is just what the Right Wings wants (again)... It is always a trade off. It is like that piece of pie on the floor Homer Simpson wants to eat. We all knew this was coming. Don't bite. Chill. We do not live in a representative democrazy. We live in a Global Economy.

We had no power to change this. Accept the Things we Cannot Change. And continue on to change things we CAN. Taking our ball and going home to self destruct does nothing positive for anyone.
Tantrums do not work. They self destruct us and steal what little power we have. Which is just what they are intended to do.
I am not biting.

I do not argue. Or bicker or bitch. Or get caught in the little fights we have here that are scripts from "reality" Tv. I DO NOT "debate". I have grand kids of color on the streets. That comes first. I will not be distracted in any way.

So... here we are.
One thing age gives us is staying power.
And cold acceptance of What Is. UNITY works. Fighting and bickering does not. WE are facing down the biggest human economic power in the world. All that they want is not healthy for us. Yes I see that. But that will not stop me from my focus which has the ability to change it all. I "KEEP MY EYES ON THE PRIZE".

I am not naive.
I am street smart. We are fighting an Organized Crime Model here.
So splitting our Unity plays into their hands. Have none of you studied Organized Crime History?

There are two kinds of being pissed off.
One is ego based from feeling "powerless". Enraged by it. That is a trap. That is frustration born of fear and an urgency to "do something" even if it is self destructive. It alienates us from our focus. It destroys our UNITY. It pisses our power and energy away.

The other kind is accepting what we can't change and keep going.
I will vote for who ever is nominated by the Party. It is our only real world shot to push things forward for our kids and grand kids.
It isn't perfect. It isn't all we want. I accept that. It isn't about ME.

Change is made ever so slowly. It is made by iron determination to not be distracted, to not breaking apart, to keep going.
Even murder, lynchings, all manner of corruption can not stop this.
The only thing that stops it is hissy fits because it is not exactly what our rage, ego and fears want. I can't afford that anymore.
For me it is truly Life and Death for the kids on the street.

This endures through generations. We are in this for the long haul.
So at 70 I do not piss away my energy and strength on arguing.
Or self destructing. I do not do "floor pie".
I LOVE Bernie. He is saying everything we want to hear. Everything we hope for.

I do not believe he will be allowed to be elected. I do not believe we have a representative democracy. I do not believe elections are clean or work. I believe they are shows, they are a dance done to keep the traditional beliefs in place. To keep business going globally. To keep domestic populations feeling they have a sense of "control".

I believe Civil Rights/Human Rights are needed by this global economy and those who resist this will be and are being crushed.
The old anachronistic ways of the past that get in the way of business ARE being slowly phased out. I do not feel this way of running a planet is healthy or good. But first things first.

The truth is we don't have much control. And getting us to self destruct and de-power ourselves is a functional tool. Like, arguing and debating I don't do that. I just keep going quietly and in a focused way. Like Gandhi. But with a irreverent sense of humor.
I will vote for who ever the Party nominates.

White House’s secret weapon on trade: Nancy Pelosi

Read more: http://www.politico.com/story/2015/06/white-houses-secret-weapon-on-trade-nancy-pelosi-118565.html#ixzz3e0Lg4Mi5

She has a long history of putting on a show for the public while working against their interest in private. I'm sure Hillary Clinton was acutely aware that Pelosi's maneuvering on TPP last week was just politics.

that the same old game was being played.

At least they don't disappoint anymore.

It would have been a shock if this had not happened.

Sadly people who predicted this after she played the 'I'm with you, really I am' game.

So she joined the Republicans, AGAIN. Against the people.

Why don't they just come right out and say it, at least the Repubs are honest about their anti-people policies, and let's stop the games.

Hope you enjoy having the Supreme Court dominated by as many as six right wing bastards. They will make mincemeat out of every progressive issue and hand the county over to the plutocrats. With the Republicans dominating congress it will be goodbye to the ACA, Social Security and Medicare just for starters. The working class will be relegated to nothing more virtual servitude. I sure as hell glad that I am as old as I am, but I sure worry about my grandchildren's future. They will make the TPP look like a workers paradise in what they will have in store for them.

"Dear Friend,

Any day now, the Supreme Court will hand down decisions that will change America forever.

One will decide the future of marriage equality. Another could kick millions off of the support they need to afford health insurance.

We’re waiting on the edge of our seats. But we can’t afford to do nothing in the meantime.

This network can’t fight for middle class families without your support. And with 6 days left until our FEC deadline, we still have a ways to go to reach our $50,000 goal.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Express Donate: $5

Express Donate: $10

Express Donate: $25

Or, donate another amount.

Thank you for all of your help.

27. Why can't we have a trade agreement
Wed Jun 24, 2015, 04:42 PM
Jun 2015

that incentivizes or even requires companies to make things in America for America, and only make things for other countries to be sold in those countries? So it builds all countries without pitting wage and price wars against each other? It seems to me that should be a requirement of a trade agreement for the wealthier countries. The poor countries should still be able to sell us goods made there, as long as it's not an American corporation taking the profits.

Even our wheat, corn and other agricultural goods that we trade, are heavily subsidized by the government so the game is rigged against small farmers. And we ship our ag to China so they can process it and ship it back to us? WTF? Why not let those lost profits go to the farmers here, and provide jobs here to process it? I'm still afraid to buy anything edible for humans or pets/livestock, made in China...and how do we know if goods made in America are made with ag processed in China? Unless and until we can control quality and worker's rights in poorer countries, we will continue to get cheaper and cheaper crap that is designed to fail...a throw away society does not benefit us. I am so sick of buying crap made overseas. I want the good American products back that we used to make.

Is it all wall streets fault? If so, how do we change this?

Next, the Senate will immediately move to pass TAA for workers, which is now attached to an African trade preferences bill, after which it will be sent back to the House. And with Pelosi's support, TAA should have the votes for passage.

But will it still be paid for with sequester cuts to Medicare?
