If Hillary is a lock?
Why all the effort to douse our enthusiasm
Bernie is not trashing Hillary - and if he loses the primary most of us will support Hillary
Spend your efforts supporting your candidate and we'll do the same
That's what the primaries are for

(11,417 posts)She is not the enemy nor is Bernie.
But if you want to make up shit about Hillary that isn't true expect it to be pointed out.
A couple of days ago Hillary was at 75% and Bernie was at 15%.
If pointing that out is dumping on your candidate that is your problem not mine.

(35,294 posts)there is a push to stop us from supporting him
"Bernie can't win" is often repeated here
your suggestion that they are simply being news carriers is disingenuous

(11,417 posts)I don't think DU can run our lives.
To me a Bernie nomination will give us a repub President. That is a small part of why I support Hillary. I think if you ask the majority of voters will agree with me. DU does not reflect the world out there. True Bernie is more popular than Hillary in DU but again that is opposite the country as a whole.
Please support Bernie because it is only good for all of us that his views are becoming main stream. I have been listening to Bernie on radio and TV for years and I agree with him. But I do not think he could win the general and I think Hillary can. She has broader support.
I just get as pissed when people make shit up about her as you do concerning what is said about Bernie.

Not Bernie, and the average working Republican has been taught to hate Hillary for 20 yrs now, and they are single celled aomebas .

If we could elect a left progressive government in 2016 I would be over joyed.
I don't think it can be done.

(10,495 posts)will NEVER throw off the yoke of Wall Street! They will always control whoever is in the White House. At some point you have to take a chance. Sure Bernie will require supporters to work harder for him without the money behind him, but that will always be the case. You are, in effect, saying you are ok with corporate control.
With where things are now in our country and with Climate Change, we cannot afford to wait. Also, when is the next Bernie going to come along, one that has a proven track record of doing what he says and not being owned by corporate interests?
Bernie would have plenty of support if all of the Hillary supporters went with who they thought was best instead of who had the best chance.

(11,417 posts)if someone like Bernie has a chance. To do that we have to win in 2016. We have to take back the Senate. We have to appoint 4 progressive judges to the SCOTUS.
It takes a bunch things to happen to get where you want to be. You can't jump from today's politics to progressive government overnight. The right thinks long term that is how they build on little successes like how they took over states in 2010.
We have to think long term.

(10,495 posts)It will TAKE a Bernie before we can get CFR! It will also take the people, US, to fight for these things as well. Too many want to say their part is done by simply voting. If we have millions of people, directed by their President to apply the pressure needed, we can get what we want. We will, not in a long time, have the House, Senate, and the White House again. We have to make the change happen. Bernie has said that he will need millions of people to make it work, nothing's changed with that.

(9,656 posts)i think if clinton gets the nomination the repubs will win
they hate her in an ungodly way,no one could energize the repub base like hc but even my repub friends want single payer healthcare especially those over 55 (we pay 3 times as much with the aca as a young person even tho our best earning years are behind us)

(11,417 posts)at this point its pretty much just opinions anyway
Hillary has been running since 1992 Bernie only for 6 weeks now. I know there are many here who were wanting to see Bernie run for a lot longer but the fact is he's only been in this race for a short time

(930 posts)Actually if you want a republican president Hillary will deliver it. Bernie gives us a fighting chance because of his populist message which sells readily to most Americans tired of status quo politicians like Hillary. Then we have all reasons why Hillary is a bad candidate i.e. HRC does not connect well with people, does not interview well, does not debate well, has a long history of questionable behavior that can be exploited and comes off as too bland. She is toast in the general election unless the repugs select someone like Cruz. Stop deluding yourself with this one.
WHEN CRABS ROAR
(3,813 posts)It is time for a real progressive populist movement, but the message needs to be clear and not overly complex and it needs to be repeated over and over to drive it home into the minds of the people.
Then Bernie will win

(11,417 posts)I think the problem is what we see as real you see as a tear down. Is saying Hillary has broader support among women and minorities a tear down? Is saying Hillary has 60 point lead on Bernie a tear down?
