Man pleads guilty in 2014 Greyhound bus crash near Phoenix

PHOENIX -- A California man accused of attacking the driver of a Greyhound bus and causing it to go off an Arizona freeway in 2014 has pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated assault.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say 26-year-old Maquel Morris, of Los Angeles, had a change of plea hearing Wednesday. His sentencing is set for July 24.

Morris was facing assault and endangerment charges after 24 passengers on the Dallas-bound bus were injured in the early morning hours of Jan. 23, 2014.

Authorities say Morris struck the driver and tried to take control of the steering wheel.
