British Lord Accused of Raping Boys Inside Parliament

LONDON — A current member of Britain’s House of Lords “violated, raped, and tortured” children inside the Houses of Parliament, it was claimed last night in one of the most shocking accusations yet to be heard in the country’s growing VIP sex-abuse scandal.

Britain’s public prosecutor ruled earlier this year that similar cases of sexual assault should not be brought against the alleged perpetrator, Lord Janner, because he was suffering from dementia. Police recommended the Labour Lord face trial on charges of six rapes and 16 sexual assaults alleged to have taken place between 1969 and 1998, but prosecutors decided the 86-year-old was unfit to stand trial.

The alleged child-abuse victims, some of whom say they were attacked by Janner as boys, say they believe the politician is being protected as part of an establishment cover-up, designed to protect Britain’s rich and powerful from the full force of the law, which continues to this day.

The horrific scale of sexual abuse against children carried out by powerful figures in British public life was laid bare last month, when police officers disclosed that they were investigating allegations against 76 politicians and almost 250 “persons of public prominence.” More than 100,000 alleged attacks have been catalogued by detectives since the police launched a series of inquiries into sexual abuse by people in positions of power.

1. Wait, what? 'Suffering dementia' allows you to avoid rape charges but still work as a British pol?

I would think if you were 'suffering dementia' you would have been kicked out of office, and not been in position to 'rape, torture' etc, kids in Parliament.

Everyone being prosecuted is in their 80's. Then only ones that they firmly assert are guilty are already dead. This guy won't see the inside of a courtroom, they will drag it out until he dies. They are probably afraid of what he might say, especially in a less than fully healthy mental state.

11. CPS decision not to prosecute Lord Janner 'to be overturned'
Fri Jun 26, 2015, 07:41 PM

The decision not to prosecute Greville Janner for historical child sex offences is to be overturned, according to reports.

A barrister who has spent several weeks examining the evidence as part of an independent review has concluded there should be a hearing of the allegations, the Daily Mail has claimed.

The decision is expected to be released next week and would overturn the Crown Prosecution Service’s decision in April not to pursue Lord Janner.

Such a move would pave the way for evidence to be tested in a criminal court in a “trial of facts”, and will put Alison Saunders, the director of public prosecutions, under pressure to resign.

While remebering this seems to come via the Daily Mail, so might not be accurate, that's good. What the Daily Beast article said about him driving and going to the House of Lords within the last year put the lie to him suffering from Alzheimer's since 2009 to such an extent that he couldn't stand trial.
