for 4 years from '89-93. He came an eyelash from beating ol Newt Gingrich back when Newt was parading the Contract on America around.

Jones is actually a great friend of the Left. He's just on the wrong side of the Rebel flag debate.

Take away that flag and the Dukes of Hazzard is a flat out left wing TV show. Bo and Luke Duke were a two modern day Robin Hood making sure that regular folks got a fair shake. The greedy rich guy Jefferson Davis Hogg was the villain whose schemes the Dukes always foiled resulting in benefits for the local orphans or other worthy group.

They were fighters for the underdog, for social justice amid a backdrop of a very corrupt local government.

Not sure about John Schneider, who is a conservative Christian.

So while I don't know his political leanings, it would be sheer misery to be a conservative in Madison, well any time. Ha.
