Has the GOP run out of big "Against" issues?

Seriously..

They still have anti-immigration and fence deal...But illegal immigration into US has slowed. And it probably affects south (their people anyway) more than anywhere else.

Benghazi - Been there, done that

ISIS - No one wants another big war

Economy expanding too slowly - Well, most people don't understand all that.

Email-gate - No one really cares

Ripped off by China ? People still shop at Walmart, right

Flat Tax - If it was extremely cogent? Na...9-9-9 didn't light any fires

Can you seriously think of anything?

Their whiny "grievances" come from a bottomless pit of bullshit.

but the NRA was right there to thwart any type of federal regulation... despite family, friends, classmate survivors and others lobbying Congress to do something.

The Charleston police department hasn't (as far as I've seen) released any info on how many bullets the guy fired, although there were reports that he "reloaded 5 times", from what I read. Guaranteed they will be ready to roll with the blocking after the last funeral.

and Reagan were shot, to get what was dubbed the "Brady Bill" (Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act) in place, and an additional year for the now sun-setted AWB provision into law.

left that is universally and overwhelmingly controversial out there that I know of AND I don't know of anything GREAT and positive that they have to play against us. If I were advising them - I would tell them to co-opt on something good we were pushing and come up with a different spin on it. We always call them a party of NO....they need to have at least a couple Yeses.

They are who they are ...

And, it has "worked" for them politically for going on a half century - since Reagen, only it was more subtle at the start with him and has increasingly become more and more overt to the point today that it is just outright.

Their go to move is hatred and division.

During this time it has gotten them to this point, where outside of the White House, they have majority control at every level - DC, State governments, the judiciary branch.

They can't go positive, out of the gates, because the negativity and hatred is at the core of their primary voting block. They have to appease it, or they will lose its loyalty AND the regular intensity it brings that is vital to winning elections.

Further, people can say they hate negative politics, but it wins the day more often than not.

I don't know if there every was some romantic notion of government in this country, but today, it is universally seen as the lowest of low - so appeals to positivity to government has almost no traction, while it taps into what exists to be negative.

So, they will do what they do - wake up in the morning, see what is going on and find their weak ass rationalizaitions for why it is the evil liberal's fault and scream about it until something sticks with the general masses.
