Comedian Eddie Izzard: ‘I Hate the Right Wing,’

and 80 to 90 Percent of the World are Aligned Against Them.

Interesting read and interesting watch.

“Politics is complicated,” Izzard said, “But the public who elects us, they want us to get the complexity and try and drive a simplified field through it. Get a direction on it.”

and he's right about the right wing simpletons and their simplistic politics of a dog eat dog "free" market that is an impossible ideal since the dogs who get in first take everything and control it. He's also right about the percentage of people worldwide who oppose it on an issue by issue basis.

King shouldn't have asked him about Cameron, who's a Tory idiot, he should have asked him about Blair, that fake Labour poodle. I suppose he didn't want any profanity on the show.

2. I have been a huge fan of Eddie Izzard - the man and the comedian and the actor - since 1998.

I think he is brilliant, and Dress to Kill, for example, has more spot on political and historical observations than a class.
He just nails everything. I recommend watching the whole thing. For years, my favorite sign line was "Do you have a flag?"

From the Death Star Canteen.

Now I have to go back and watch the Dress to Kill show again.

I love all his stuff, especially the show he did in French.

4. When I first saw Dress to Kill, I was so enamored that I bought the VHS tapes from England,

and paid to have them copied into the North American format. Three tapes, I think. Just his version of World War II is wonderful - America, where you been? Havin' breakfast! And my grandson and I still refer to his account of Napoleon deciding to invade Russia in the winter - when warranted, we just say Bad idea! Bad idea! Bad idea!

Now I want to watch everything again.

I don't agree with all of his politics, but then, I am not a purist.

Real ones, anyway. What passes for humor among conserves is pretty bleak.
