Local news

My local news comes from Knoxville, TN

One of the first stories tonight was the about delusional members of the state legislature who feel it necessary to make a law protecting ministers who refuse to perform same sex marriages. A lawyer commented that ministers are educated (not sure about all of them) and understand the Constitution and the separation of church and state. He did not express the same thoughts for those legislators. I agree they are incredibly ignorant.

Stupid is pretty strong in some places.

even Mass. because the stupid can be strong there, too.

Then again, it's easier to grandstand "protecting religion" than it is to work on the economic problems that are killing their constituency.

Much of this nonsense is simply a distraction to keep the ignorant and ill-informed from realizing that they are not working on issues of substance. We see it all the time both locally and nationally.
