Obama hilariously calls middle class-destroying TPP fast track law a "true bipartisan effort"

Even though 95% of the House Democrats voted against the effort, and only 13 Senate Democrats voted to pass the Obama/GOP/US Chamber of Offshoring legislative end-around to ram fast track onto Obama's desk, Comedian Obama still calls the whole stinking piece of excrement a "true bipartisan effort".

He even found a few Wall Street Democrats to show up for the official signing, give it that "bipartisan" look for his usual pontification.

Turtle Man Mitch McConnell, though personally invited by Obama to attend the event, wasn't available; probably got injured pinching himself so hard that a Democratic president could so obligingly do the GOP's bidding on wrecking the American middle class.

In bipartisan ceremony, Obama signs trade legislation, calls for infrastructure bill

June 29 at 3:29 PM

President Obama hailed a "true bipartisan effort" on Monday as he signed a package of trade bills into law, and he called on Washington to summon a similar spirit of compromise to address the nation's crumbling infrastructure.

Obama was joined by seven members of Congress, including two Republicans, during a signing ceremony for the two bills, which will give his administration "fast-track" authority to complete trade accords and provide retraining for workers displaced by trade pacts.

"I thought we'd start off the week with something we should do more often -- a truly bipartisan bill signing," Obama said in the East Room of the White House. "This is... a reminder of what we can get done on even the toughest of issues if we compromise. I hope we can summon that effort on future challenges, including rebuilding our roads and bridges and infrastructure around the country. The American people deserve nothing less from us."

(snip)

Republicans overwhelmingly supported the legislation, but most Democrats, citing fierce opposition from labor unions, opposed it. Many Democrats accused Obama of turning his back on Democratic priorities, including infrastructure and tax reform, which would have allied the president with his own party against the GOP. "This is so much fun, we should do it again," Obama remarked as he signed the bills.

Lets look at the numbers, we are talking about two bills

H.R.1295 - Trade Preferences Extension Act of 2015
H.R.2146 - Bipartisan Congressional Trade Priorities and Accountability Act of 2015

H.R.1295 passed the Senate 97-1 (YAA 46 Dems & 51 REP / NAY 1 REP /NV 2 REP)
H.R.1295 passed the House 286-138 (YEA 175 DEMS & 111 REP / NAY 6 DEM & 132 REP / NV 7 Dem & 2 REP)

TOTAL VOTES FOR H.R.1295

YEA
221 DEMS
162 REP

NAY
6 DEMS
133 REP

NV
7 DEM
3 REP

------------------------

H.R.2146 passed the Senate 60-38 (YEA 13 DEMS & 47 REP / NAY 33 DEM & 5 REP / NV 2 REP)
H.R.2146 passed the House 218-208 (YEA 28 DEMS & 190 REP / NAY 158 DEM & 50 REP / NV 2 DEM & 6 REP)

TOTAL VOTES FOR H.R.2146

YEA
41 DEMS
237 REP

NAY
191 DEMS
55 REP

NV
2 DEM
8 REP

------

Both combined

YEA
262 DEMS
399 REP

NAY
197 DEMS
188 REP

NV
9 DEM
11 REP

So the bills combined passed with 661 votes and 40% of the votes coming from Dems
As a whole in the 114th United States Congress DEMS account for 44% of the vote (234-300)

Seems like a pretty true bipartisan effort
to me

O rancid sector of the far left, please stop your grousing! Compared to you, Eeyore sounds like a Teletubby. If I gave you a pony, you would not only be furious that not everyone has a pony, but you would pick on the pony for not being radical enough until it wept big, sad, hot pony tears. Because what we're talking about here is not an analysis, a strategy, or a cosmology, but an attitude, and one that is poisoning us. Not just me, but you, us, and our possibilities.

But in all seriousness, this was a joint effort between the largest multinational corporations and the shareholders of them and the armies of lobbyists, attorneys and banksters they tithe to (and who themselves feel no shame in accepting) in exchange for Wall St salvation for only themselves above representative democracy for the rest of their fellow men & women.

They all got what they wanted. Just like with NAFTA, just like Glass-Steagal, just like CU. They always get what they want. Less for everyone else and more for themselves. Less for each successive generation until it is all gone.

I mean really, the one time our Pres. finally finds the comfortable shoes they are made by Phil Knight's Little Urban Achievers?

If it isn't clear to anyone by now, they couldn't be more slow witted than Sarah Palin after a three day NyQuil bender.

But that is the trap of thinking they have any real control. They don't. They are just flawed human beings like all of us. They have created a tiny snowball that has slowly rolled and turned with little pushes over the decades into a massive threat to the very existence of life on this planet.

James Cameron couldn't imagine a more apathetic villain.

The buck stops nowhere these days. Everyone chases it, nobody considers where it is going.

It is far past time for a President who did.
