Wal-Mart Apologies for Baking Cake Decorated With ISIS Flag

Wal-Mart has apologized for baking a cake decorated with the ISIS flag.

The cake was ordered from a Wal-Mart in Slidell, Louisiana. The customer said he had been denied an earlier request for a cake decorated with the Confederate battle flag and the words "Heritage Not Hate."

Wal-Mart said in a statement: "It's unfortunate that one customer sought to take advantage of an associate who did not know the flag or its meaning. This cake should not have been made and we apologize for the mistake."


The man, Chuck Netzhammer, did not immediately return a request for comment from NBC News

I hope Mr. Netzhammer will have enough cake to share with the FBI agents who'll likely be visiting...

12. I can understand why the clerk wouldn't have refused the cake order.

Unless he/she spoke Arabic, how would they have known what it said? I'm sure that they didn't want to seem racially insensitive. It could have been something very innocent and the store could have been charged with discrimination. It was a no-win situation for them.

15. I don't think there are too many people in the South that are not familiar with the Confederate flag

However, I suspect that is not true with the symbol of the terrorist group ISIS. There a millions of uninformed/misinformed people in the South so it just goes to show that his attempt at pointing out Wal-Mart's hypocrisy was not very carefully thought out.
