Top Story: Obama Administration Removes Crucial Barrier to Marijuana Research

In a move long-sought by medical marijuana patients and advocates, the White House announced that it was removing a major obstacle to marijuana research - the Public Health Service (PHS) Review.

This bureaucratic obstacle is part of the reason why it's more difficult to study marijuana than virtually any other drug.

This is progress, but the White House should also end the federal government's unique and completely unjustified monopoly on research-grade marijuana production, and allow private entities to grow marijuana, thus facilitating even more important research.
