Excellent!

As first reported by the Herald-Leader, clerks in Casey, Lawrence, Montgomery, Rowan and several other counties have decided to stop issuing licenses to all couples rather than face claims of discrimination. The clerks cite personal beliefs against same-sex marriage for not issuing the licenses.
The ACLU of Kentucky is prepared to file lawsuits against those clerks, and would cite in its filing the equal protection clause of the U.S. Constitution, said Bill Sharp, a staff attorney with the organization.
Any county clerks decision to refuse to issue them a marriage license where theyre otherwise qualified to receive such a license, well be happy to represent those individuals and sue the county clerk in that office, Sharp said.

(16,286 posts)I doubt it though, are these criminal suits or civil suits?
I want to know why federal troops arent arresting them.

(67,111 posts)stern measures. There are some lawsuits starting up, clerks and others will get the message they are on their own and had best be ready to cough up large sums of money in their defense and the resultant consequences. SCOTUS makes the laws of the land, not their mystical and imaginary gods. Furthermore, if they can't hack their jobs, then they should be fired for incompetency and insubordination.
