A big thank-you to Mitt Romney

In going out of his way to embrace conspiracy kook and unstable loon Donald Trump (Remember, Mitt and Ann-toinette flew to Vegas to accept Trump's endorsement, said they "were proud and honored" to stand with him, then invited him to speak at the convention), he told the GOP base that, yes, we, the GOP leadership, deem this guy a legitimate voice of our party. A regular gig for the racist birther soon came about on FOX and Friends.

Now, as Trump destroys the GOP brand with his idiocy, and lashes out at any candidate who dares question his rhetoric (Pataki), candidates have the choice of saying nothing (which most will do) as he alienates millions of general voters, thereby embracing him, or speaking out and getting into a feud on which the wingnut base will side with Donald. They have a disastrous primary on their hands. Trump is now the face and voice of the GOP, and they have no one to blame but themselves.

And, it's entirely possible the base is dumb enough to nominate him, guaranteeing an electoral catastrophe for the GOP that will make Goldwater '64 look like a triumph by comparison. And it all started because Mitt was so eager to latch on to a reality TV carnival barker to impress wingnut primary voters.

Congratulations, Republicans. You built that.

they can't control and live to regret. Sarah Palin is another example. And let's not forget that whole Tea Party thing that bit them in the ass big time. And yet, they never learn - much to our delight.

I went to Mitt Romney's for dinner. I ended up setting the table, wondering why someone so rich didn't have someone to do that for him. He told me he was going to pray for me, I told him not to bother- I don't believe. He then kicked me out. Very strange.

The wealthy can count on us working people to set the table for them. I guess that is what struck me about the dream. They assume we will carry their water
