(6,927 posts)he really looks smaller. He is still a big loud mouthed bully...but he is smaller.
Freddie
(9,267 posts)He's actually a lot smaller than he was. Too bad his assholishness isn't.

(34,582 posts)as someone who has struggled with weight from time to time, I will not cast aspersions at him about it. There is plenty of other things to hate him for.

(34,582 posts)when we had Ann Richards, Molly Ivins, and Jim Hightower (still with us). I was too stupid at the time to realize how great things were.

(35,685 posts)Because on it, someone posted pics of him awhile back and a more recent one, and it looks like he lost some, but then gained it back.
Now, unbeknownst to me, which is why I posted the thread, a person can gain weight back, even if they have lapband surgery.
If this is indeed the case, I think we are dealing with a more seriously messed up individual than we originally thought. Not only is he delusional, he's a danger to all of us and to himself. This man needs to be in therapy, not in the governor's office or indulging fantasies about being president.

(711 posts)They say that it "Its funny because its true", but likewise it is mostly only mean because its true. If it wasnt, it wouldnt hurt.
This is also why abusive leaders - like Christie - are never funny, even if they are plenty mean. Its all lies and make believe.
Britts seem to do mean humor better or at least more often:
"America's resident dunce Sarah Palin, scraping the barrel of her long deceased mind." Martin Bashir reacts to Sarah Palin's comparison of US debt to slavery. Miss him.
"Lord Dacre is himself a frothing autocrat. An absolutely foul-mouthed boss, who constantly screams the c-word at just about anyone He bullies, swears and shrieks, but presents his paper as having the values and standards of a misty Midsomer Britain. He decries indecency on one page and pushes his male readers into a semi over a semi-nude actress on another. His cancer scare, miracle cure stories are sickeningly anti-science and the only good thing to be said about his Mail is that no one decent or educated believes in it." Stephen Fry responds at length to a Daily Mail hatchet job.
But some americans are quite good too:
Obamas jokes about Donald Trump firering Gary Busey was funny mostly because it was a scathing stab into the pride of Mr. Rich-but-awful.
Jon Stewarts line of polite but mean interrogation was also funny in the deepest way: "How old are you?" Tucker Carlson: "35". "And you wear a bow tie?"

(26,623 posts)but the mean bully that is Chris Christie deserves to be mocked.

Not one of them looks like Walker or Carson or Jindal or Bush
