Happy 69th wedding anniversary, Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter!

Married 69 years today (July 7), and just today President Carter in an interview confirmed that his marriage has been the secret to a long and happy life. I believe it; all my friends have been married or committed to someone a very long time. I haven't been as lucky, but I know what that kind of commitment means to longevity and happiness.

All the best to them, to those who have been committed for a long time, and to those of us who have tried their best. To quote an old friend, "Live Long, and Prosper."
