I rarely believe in coincidences...
Also, would we be told right away if a major hack was taking place?

Whether or not they come back may be dependent on how much we have to send to the hackers.
Think of all the systems that have been hit sporadically over the past year or so. My nearby airport, my power company, bank, few retail chains, and on and. What if those are test runs for a big shutdown day?

They are down - playing the risk to US markets today. I wonder if it was a purposeful "glitch". Pure speculation on my part.
