It's surprising how short memories can be.
In the last couple of cycles, the GOP has had quite field, and the lineup at this point really takes the cake.
However, as we should remember, the "LEADING GOP CANDIDATE" usually tends to be whomever got the most press within the last couple of weeks or so.
They will continue to trade that title about as often as "AL QAIDA NUMBER TWO KILLED" or "WORLD'S OLDEST PERSON DIES".
It's just that kind of story.

(58,785 posts)win has some entertainment value. Same for the so-sincere consideration of unelectables like Christie, Santorum, Paul, Cruz, Jindal, Carson, Fiorina, Rubio, Huckabee. And who else will just disappear like a puff of...Newt? Or like a billionaire's fancy?
I'm so glad none of the rest are running on my side, but we probably shouldn't hope to be left with another bumbling Mitt-grade candidate, with a platform so mysterious that even his campaign staff didn't know what it was. I'm guessing JE notta-Bush will shape up quite satisfactorily.

But to throw in the reference "...a puff of...Newt" - my mind doesn't even want to TRY to go there!
