Neil Young age 69 still showing liberals how to protest while "rocking in the free world"

Neil Young performs one of his classics, "Long May You Run," during an acoustic set Saturday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Review here after answering a few simple questions: http://journalstar.com/entertainment/concert-review/review-neil-young-brings-music-message-to-arena-show/article_e3fdc13d-1f3f-5526-8c18-5823c07ef357.html

Marta and I went to Lincoln (NEBR) a little early to have a good parking spot, dinner, and some old fashioned protest activity at the bottom of this post.

Dinner was great. So was all the protest at Vega. A young lady 1/2 my size sheepishly asked if I would look over her legalize pot pamphlet. I told her medical MJ is recommended for my FTD and got an unexpected hug.

Something that doesn't happen in NEBR. a lot, every liberal topic in the area was beating it's chest in one wonderful gathering.

It was time to go. The fun didn't end when we left the Vega bar. There were several tents up right outside the arena doors. From NO Monsanto, save the frogs, and more. Thanks Neil. I think I had a glimpse of heaven.

One young lady asked if the guy behind me if he would wear a NO ROUND UP sticker. The guy was rude. I spoke up "I will". She came over in a hurry with a BIG smile and a hug. I think it was after that Marta said something about this might be our last concert.

We signed more petitions, got on email lists, and donated to help save the world for our children's children's children. (OK so I just borrowed from the Moody Blues)

We went in. It was the coolest place in Lincoln we had been inside on a very hot day.The two ladies in front of us (one from Omaha her sister came up from Florida) arrived about 10 minutes after we did. With time to kill before the show a conversation started. The sister from FL had hip surgery 8 weeks ago. She said some things Marta needed to hear about her as yet unscheduled hip surgery. Luck of the draw on seats paid off.

First out was a First American of the San Carlos Apache tribe to explain how his tribal land was stolen with the help of Senator McCain and given to an Australian company to mine copper on their sacred ground. He did a chant that was very well received by the crowd. I wish that had been mentioned in the review.

Band of Horses opened officially. They played great stuff but were just a tad too loud. Neil never got it to that level. Tear down time for their equipment.

I posted we were at the concert. I never did see BrotherIvan after he replied he was there too.

The lights go down. Out come two ladies dressed as farmers throwing seed on the stage. Watering two flowers. Repeat, repeat, repeat,... Neil was planting seeds for the later part of the show that continued the protest flavor of the day in Lincoln.

We were 8 rows up on the side. Because of the lighting and angel most of our photos aren't good enough to post. We didn't think they would let Marta's HQ camera in, so we were limited to camera phones. Mine is a cheap piece of crap.

Singing along on my favorites of his catalog was dream come true. Only song he didn't do I wanted to hear was (Four dead in) Ohio.

At this point I turn you over to the link with a professional review link at top of this post.

One of the better photos from Marta:

The rally at the bar wasn't his. It was the group that put on that concert last Fall.

The tents out front are traveling with him by request and getting local volunteers in the area to help in advance.

Beautiful that he takes on Monsanto. Hmm, wonder who he'd support for president?
