'Bliss was it in that dawn to be alive!' The FRENCH REVOLUTION began on this day - 14 juillet 1789.

The French Revolution as It Appeared to Enthusiasts at Its Commencement

~ William Wordsworth

Bliss was it in that dawn to be alive,

But to be young was very heaven!—Oh! times,

In which the meagre, stale, forbidding ways

Of custom, law, and statute, took at once

The attraction of a country in romance!

Historical convergence?

World-changing, historic peace initiative signed on BASTILLE DAY.

Doesn't get any better!

the rich, the corporations and our corrupt politicians. Nothing is going to change until the streets are filled with tens to hundreds of thousands of working people. The days of voting every 2-4 years for change are gone. It is time to get fighting mad.

to stop. As Donne wrote:

"No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee."

It is well worth taking a chance to revolt. Sitting behind a keyboard and moaning and groaning and bitching will not cut it any more. it time to put the fear of God in the PTB. A national strike would be a good start. Our biggest weapon as a worker is our pocket books and wallets, shut the spending down. The rich and the corporations have bills to pay and their creditors will come for them first because they have money and the creditors that we don't.

Some turn a blind eye and support environmental destruction and the denial of it, crushed 3rd world child labor, profiting from prisons and the militarization of police, denying health care, funding racism, electing cons and thwarting basic representative democracy for everyone else.

When they say they need a hand, don't just say "Maybe. How much will I make?". Consider also the effects of ones actions. Say "How much pain and death do I wish to cause? And, do I wish to profit from that, at all?".

Empathy for others is a tall order these days.
