who thought the super bowl in NJ would bring money it cost over 100 million with very little intake, all the fees and things went to the NFL, the people stayed in hotels in NYC, and most of the busses came from NYC, not NJ. If you were staying in NJ, you had to go into NYC to get there.
All to make Christie look good or corzine or whoever signed that horrible contract.

San Diego’s City Council voted Tuesday to spend $2.1 million in an attempt to stay in the NFL stadium game and keep the Chargers in town.

When city leaders met with NFL officials in June, the message was clear — fast tracking an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) is key to the project moving forward.

The money approved by the city council will be spent on an EIR for the Mission Valley stadium site proposed by the mayor’s Citizens Stadium Advisory Group (CSAG).

The city is using state funds which were earmarked for meeting new regulatory requirements. Apparently the regulatory requirement they are meeting is the NFL's requirement to provide them with a new stadium. And the local news takes the perspective that city council bowing to the whims of team owners is business as usual.

Yes, I did see John's show Sunday night.
