Incredibly, the negotiators seem to have found a compromise acceptable to both sides:
The survey, published on Tuesday, revealed that 55 percent of those asked by Forsa for Stern magazine believed Angela Merkel's behavior towards Greece during discussions over a new bailout deal was correct. Almost one-third of the 1,001 people surveyed said they would have preferred the Chancellor to have forced Greece out of the euro.
Happiest with Merkel is the opposition Green party, with two-thirds saying they supported her position. Among her own Christian Democratic Union members, the figure was 66 percent while 62 percent of members of coalition partner Social Democrats also backed her stance.
However, 81 percent revealed they had serious doubts whether Greece would implement the agreed measures, with just 14 percent saying they believed they would.

A new poll in Greece says most Greeks go along with the bailout deal. The Kapa Research poll for To Vima newspaper says 51.5% of Greeks believe the agreement is positive. A higher percentage thinks that the country's parliament should approve it. Even more - 72% - simply thought, like it or not, there was no alternative.

The Nazis persecuted those among their own population that they disagreed with; their enemies were down the block.
The Hutus and Tutsis are similarly co-citizens in one state. Their enemies were internal, those down the block.
It's easy to be compassionate and show empathy, to be a "peacemaker," with those that you think are wronged and can make you look good. It's when you deal with those who disagree, who oppose you in reality that it's so easy to dehumanize and call vermin. At DU you can purge them or hide a post; for others, the hatred's much more virulent and hobbling, and many take great pains to not just justify their hate and bitterness, but wallow in it and make it into a virtue. For them, lack of hatred is a flaw.
