I never before noticed we each have a jury blacklist... When did that start?

1. It's been quite a while.

Personally, I don't give a rat's @ss about ignores, juries, blacklist, blocking…..never admired the authoritarians who DO like to wield those sticks.

8. I just started with Ignore. The poster I am ignoring was so clearly warped that I

asked myself if I knew him/her in real life would I tolerate having him in my life any more? The answer was no, of course not!

same with jury blacklist. Frankly, with the alert thing going all the time I felt my strong opinions on gun safety measures would get both that poster and others of like cause to go after me. And I put those "usual suspects" on the blacklist. I am probably on one or two of theirs but I am called for jury duty all the time and I don't worry about that.

I do not consider myself an authoritarian. I'd just had enough bullshit. Frankly, I am too old to get myself willingly trashed online. I don't come here for that. If someone has a differing view, fine and we'll have a debate. If they can't keep it civil well, I have a remedy for that too...

interesting - some of our oldest members are being targeted in recent months. IMO, it's Rand 2016 crowd who have been here the last few years, at this point. They've been obvious to me, since Rand first ran for office.

16. well, this issue is gun control and I can tell you that it is a whole different world than

what you and I experience. It is strange and things are "different" there, such as charts about gun deaths and injuries.

I won't go on. I have experienced gun violence in my own family and I know whereof I speak. However, this is not the forum for that.

So I will limit this to the issue of people who agree and disagree and the degree to which they respond to it. It was in this context that my "disagree-er" became too offensive.

13. The jury blacklist has been in place since the inception of DU3 and the jury system.

DU3 came into being around November or December 2011, if I recall correctly, so that's when the jury blacklist came into being as well.
