Just heard her talking about how Walker relates to regular folks and is someone you can have a beer with.
That will never happen.

If she does then I would say she's been cashing too many paychecks from corporate sponsors lately to be objective.

(13,190 posts)By saying he's boring she said she though for sure he would lose the recall and underestimated him.She said she wanted to find out why Wisconsin keeps voting for him and her opinion is that his policies are horrible but people like him because they can relate to him.She also has said that she's talked to several men black and white who said under no circumstances will they vote for a woman to be President.

(113,061 posts)as if she was certain of her opinion that he's relatable - she shouldn't be. Walker succeeded because Dems didn't the better job of GOTV and, quite probably, pro-Walker election fraud.
Not many people across this country will be comfortable with a regressive, cross-eyed @sshat who dyes his the hair on his balding head black as president.

(7,410 posts)I think it would be a fairly close race. I still remember that he won Wisconsin three times against a large, vocal opposition. I certainly wouldn't discount him.

(1,379 posts)I have been saying this since the beginning. Look back since Reagan, and you will find that the most relatable ALWAYS wins. Cintons v Bush, Clinton hands down, same with Dole.
gore was stiff, Kerry was Aristocratic. Obama v McCain no contest, and finally Romney the plastic Ken Doll.
I think if it is either Walker or Rubio against Cintons the GOP wins.
She is not charismatic like her husband, and she seems perpetually annoyed. I don't see her connecting.

(9,497 posts)I just think if I can relate to the president, s/he might not be as smart as I would like them to be.
President Obama. Nice guy, engaging, funny, smart. I would still be uncomfortable because he is so intelligent, so engaged in what matters in people's lives, very funny. I would be making noises, not forming words
That tells me that we elected the best on offer in 2008.
I would have no problem forming words with Romney, not that he would listen to me.
You are right of course about the politics of being relatable=electable. I just wish we would aspire to more from our leaders.
Maybe I would like to drink with President Obama, especially if Michelle was there.

(45,319 posts)He's tick heavy, looks sort of funny, he was sweaty and concentrating hard on looking natural. I did not feel I was looking at a terrible candidate, but I did not see the sort of person who can sustain a Presidential run. That tightly wound presentation does not suggest that he can.

(692 posts)does not take a dramatic shift left in its narrative and in its actions... the likelihood of a Walker or one of his ilk is a very real possibility. That this stain on the human condition has become a national player on the political scene is a massive indictment of the impotency of the Democratic Party who continue to offer up nothing but the same old economic status quo lip-service with a "more caring" veneer.

(31,849 posts)I will gently remind them, that's was the measure that many applied to GWB and remind them how that worked out for America.
It took a man that none of them would have wanted to have a beer with; but, at least two, actually did ... to get us out of the mess that he left.
