An Appreciation Thread For Democrats President Barack Obama and SoS John Kerry on the Iran Deal.

And all Democrats involved.

This was a great success for the Democratic Party and the United States.

It's a great day to be a Democrat at Democratic Underground, which is a stronghold of Democrats!

Did I mention Democrats and the massive victory that our first African-American President, a Democrat, achieved today?

Rec this if you think that we Democrats did good.

It would be a shame if any DUer thought this was some sort of... Failure?

She's also the one herding cats in Congress to make sure that Democrats stand with Barack Obama on this matter.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/14/politics/hillary-clinton-iran-nuclear-deal/index.html

What's bound to draw attention as the agreement's political ramifications come into focus: Clinton owns a piece of it. She helped the negotiations get started...Clinton explained her role in the negotiations in her memoir, "Hard Choices." She wrote that she began back-channel talks with Iran through the sultan of Oman, who had helped free American hikers imprisoned on espionage charges and suggested the nuclear talks.

She then had Sullivan, a top aide at the State Department, play a central role in getting the negotiations off the ground -- flying to Oman, meeting with Iranians and eventually leading to a September 2013 phone call in which Obama and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani agreed to formally pursue the negotiations.

...On Tuesday, Clinton praised her successor as secretary of state, Kerry, as well as Moniz, and said she'd ensure it is followed if she wins the 2016 presidential race.

http://www.businessinsider.com/hillary-clinton-iran-deal-2015-7

Hillary Clinton may have just thrown the Iran deal a huge lifeline

Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/hillary-clinton-iran-deal-2015-7#ixzz3fv2aSdd3
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reportedly told Democrats on Tuesday that she strongly supports the president's nuclear deal with Iran.... Clinton gave a "full-throated endorsement" of the compromise.

The fact that Clinton and President Barack Obama are unified on the issue could be crucial for the agreement to survive the Republican-controlled Congress. ....If Congress sends a joint resolution of disapproval to Obama, it would trigger a new timeline. He would have 12 days to veto the resolution, something he promised he would do Tuesday morning. Then, Congress would have 10 days to vote to override his veto.

Overriding a presidential veto requires a two-thirds majority of both chambers of Congress, so Obama would then need 34 allied senators to block the override. If both chambers vote to override, it would prevent Obama from suspending sanctions on Iran related to its nuclear program.

Some congressional Democrats are more hawkish on foreign policy matters than Obama, giving hope to Republicans crafting a bipartisan pushback against the landmark agreement. However, Democrats would likely have a harder time bucking both Obama and Clinton, who is their party's front-runner in the 2016 presidential race.

As John Kerry said, "What do we do? Go to war? Bomb them? Sanction them more?"

Assuming the GOP and Blue dogs can't sink this, it may be one of the real cornerstones of Obama's Presidency- making peace instead of giving in to the "inevitable" war.

Television is depressing, anxiety producing to set the brain up for propaganda and degrading for the most part.

Even entertainment show are conditioning for propaganda. They are commericals for a way of life that isn't democratic nor sustainable.

And a terrible waste of time. Our lives are made of seconds and minutes and hours, etc. We need to make use of our time for it is limited. The greats of our times know this.
