Whoopi Goldberg changes mind about Bill Cosby

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/whoopi-goldberg-changes-opinion-on-bill-cosby/

-snip-
Bill Cosby's biggest public defender, Whoopi Goldberg, is backing off her support after getting some legal advice Tuesday on the daytime talk show "The View."

Goldberg said that "all of the information that's out there kind of points to (Cosby's) guilt."

He parlayed a career in standup into advanced college degrees and an acting career, a smartass who made it in a country just barely emerging from Jim Crow, his brand of comedy crossing all color and ethnic lines.

I think Whoopi just wanted to keep believing. I don't fault her for that, at all.

her position on Cosby or her position on the show was in jeopardy.

No way was she going to be allowed to continue on-air support of a person considered guilty of drugging and raping 40-some women.

The legal adviser on-air was just away to allow her to save face before the audience.

She was skating on very thin ice considering the high turnover rate on that show.

When I used to watch the show she constantly bitched about "death taxes".

This stuff with Cosby had me furious and dumbfounded. I missed her talking about the death tax but if she was against it that would have driven me nuts too. Not to mention the reasons she gives for her arguments are usually so weak or filled with so many holes. I would agree that she is as you say "Not the brightest bulb in the box".
