Millionaire Rocker Gene Simmons to the Poor: ‘Try Being Nice to Rich People’

http://aattp.org/millionaire-rocker-gene-simmons-to-the-poor-try-being-nice-to-rich-people/

Watch out Ted Nuget (sic), Gene Simmons is edging into your territory. While giving an interview to U-T San Diego, Simmons gloated to writer George Varga about his membership in the one percent, and regurgitated Voodoo Economics nonsense and tired, debunked right-wing talking points.

The reasons why Simmons was bragging to Varga aren’t entirely clear from the piece, but Simmons told to Varga that “I have been part of the one percent for the past 30 years,” and when asked what it was like to be part of the one percent, Simmons responded:

It’s fantastic! The 1 percent pays 80 percent of all taxes. Fifty percent of the population of the U.S. pays no taxes. The 1 percent provides all the jobs for everybody else. If the 1 percent didn’t exist, there would be chaos and the American economy would drop dead. Try being nice to rich people. I don’t remember the last poor person who gave me a job.”

That’s a heaping load of bull.

Run for President, Gene! Then it really would be a clown car!

Lifelong liberal and person of taste,

You have always sucked goat dicks, your little freak show you call a band has always sucked goat dicks, and the only talent any of you has ever had is separating the dumbest of marks from their money.

Please help yourself to a gallon of STFU, preferably administered as an enema.

"Fifty percent of the population of the U.S. pays no taxes."

Has shown themselves to know nothing about what they are talking about and you have every right to inform them of their ignorance and end the conversation. I had this so called "fact" spewed out during a conversation with what appeared to be a homosapien (much like Simmons) not long ago and the creature was completely surprised to find out that that number represented all of the population not just the population that falls with in the working age.

http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/PRATT

A point refuted a thousand times, commonly abbreviated as PRATT, refers to a point or argument that has literally been refuted so many times that it is not worth bothering with.

It is a common phrase on Internet forums — as debates have a tendency to go in circles. Once people have refuted a point the first thousand times, it's hard for them to muster the motivation to do it again. It's a very common accusation levied at creationists, who are notoriously unimaginative in what they say.

Supply side economics

This states that if we cut taxes on the rich, they'll invest the money and it will "trickle down" to the less wealthy. Supply side economics and the Laffer Curve are sound in principle (for instance, if you have massive levels of crippling taxation and a population being fed by a black market), but have been thoroughly debunked as wishful thinking, since whenever these tax cuts have been notably implemented, there has been barely (if at all) trickling down of benefits.[8] Despite this, the Laffer Curve is still held in high regard by many fiscal conservatives, even while its architect continues to act like a dolt.[9]

Maybe he can work his way up to people.

Seriously, in the face of climate change, people, in this case, musicians, whose main contributions to modern life aside from a few catchy tunes is the massive amounts of carbon they dispersed into the atmosphere spreading that art, loading jumbo jets, buses, stadiums, driving traffic and the massive waste from corporate marketing.

Man, I'd be humbled at the realization of my arts contribution.

And as an artist today, I'd have to make damn sure I felt my "art" was worth the waste and assured future misery it will cause.
