The issue is the flag, and the GOOPers are going to hold up everything over that. They're appealing to the bigots and racists with this, since nobody else really gives a damn. They are worried about that bloc of voters. That's my opinion about it, of course.

Seriously, for decades, that flag has been the white persons way of saying "blacks aren't welcome here", without actually having to come out and say it.

That's why getting rid of it is being fought so hard.
