U.S. getting a shot of 'kawaii' culture with photo sticker booths from Japan

OSAKA--There is still life in the Print Club phenomenon that took Japan by storm 20 years ago.

Back in the day, it was all the rage for junior and senior high school girls to pose with friends for "purikura" photo stickers that allowed users to add catchy slogans and picture effects to enhance the shot.

Furyu Corp., the driving force behind the popularity of "purikura," is now trying to capitalize on that success in the United States and Asia.

It remains to be seen whether purikura culture will take off elsewhere in the world, though.
