Trump has gone too far

to turn back now.

The more the GOP piles on the more Trump will hang in there. His ego will not allow him to scurry away with his tail between his legs and his base will stick by him.

The GOP base hates establishment Republicans. There is no love lost between the base and McCain, Romney, the Bushes, Karl Rove, or any other Republican that's been short stroking them for years over immigration, gay marriage, abortion, etc.

Trump will continue to lead through his ability to rile up the nutwing base. They really have no where else to go.

Trump is dropping a big, steamy, turd in the punchbowl of GOP presidential aspirations. Whether he does it from inside the party or outside the party the political effect and entertainment value with be virtually the same.
