CNN: Jeb Bush defends McCain, but supported Swift Boat attacks against Kerry

Washington (CNN)After Donald Trump questioned Republican Sen. John McCain's status as a war hero, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush quickly jumped to McCain's defense.

"Enough with the slanderous attacks. @SenJohnMcCain and all our veterans - particularly POWs have earned our respect and admiration," he tweeted on Saturday.

But that outrage was missing ten years ago, when a political group attacked another Vietnam veteran -- then-Sen. John Kerry, the Democratic nominee who sought to unseat Bush's brother, the incumbent president, during the 2004 election.

Instead, Bush praised Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, the group that lobbed attacks questioning Kerry's service record in Vietnam -- attacks McCain unequivocally criticized in 2004 as "dishonest and dishonorable."

Glad to see the hypocrisy being made public of how Republicans are acting so aghast at Donald Trump's comments but were enthusiastically (gleefully) attacking the records of Max Cleland (2002) and John Kerry (2004) in the past.

What the GOP and their junkyard dogs in the Tea Party engaged in with the Swiftboating of John Kerry went beyond nasty politics. That they cheered and encouraged the smearing of an honorable service record while waving the flag and sticking yellow ribbons all over their cars as they sent more young men and women off to die in a foreign land for more corporate profits illuminates the core of their depravity.

That they now cry foul when one of their own is being smeared and have the audacity to demand that the perpetrator apologize should be the focal point of the exposure once and for all to the contry and the world what a band of hypocrites they truly are. That would happen if we had a working journalistic media that pounced on this and hammered it every day, but sadly we do not have such a thing, and after Trump exits the race we will hear of this no more.

Our military people aren't the brightest bulbs in the chandelier. I base that statement on the facts that they still vote overwhelmingly Republcan.
Apparently, they didn't care about how Republicans mocked John Kerry's service with their purple heart band aids,
They didn't care that Bush sent them off to fight his own personal, pointless war in Iraq.
They don't care that that same guy now charges them $100,000 to speak at their functions.
They don't care that the Republicans keep cutting their benefits.
They just keep voting Republican.

Of course, it is never 100% of them, but it has been a substantial majority over the years.
Can anyone explain how intelligent people do this?

offensive words and ignore the offensive deeds of his fellow ReTHUGs.

Has anyone asked that Koch-owned scumbag in Wisconsin about his comments about attacking Iran on inauguration day. JebusenoughBushes must explain this letter and how this is not an attack on a war hero.
