It's really hard being a woman in Texas these days… concealed tampons!

I checked and didn't see this come up, as it's from July 12th, so forgive me if it's a GD discussion already … b u t P L E A S E….

Women are being forced to throw out tampons and maxi pads to enter the Senate gallery, which has been confirmed by DPS. That's right: menstruating women are being denied entry to the Senate gallery unless they throw out their supplies.

From Daily Kos… https://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/07/12/1223118/-Police-Make-Women-Throw-Out-Tampons-Before-Entering-TX-Senate-Gallery-While-Allowing-Concealed-Guns

Maybe we shouldn't conceal them anymore… You know… All a woman has to do to step up to wear her concealed weapon on her hip, and hang the unused tampon from her ears.

I'm glad I got out of Texas when I did….

Yeah. I was fortunate to live in Texas when Ann Richards was Governor. That shit wouldn't have gone over with her.

Of course, the gallery got rowdy during Wendy Davis' filibuster…must be backlash against that.

I've never been there when the gallery wasn't rowdy. Our purpose, I think.

This was one of those "top stories" and it was 2013…

Update, I'd say, is needed, but thanks for your better working pair of eyes.

I guess I understand the diabetic supplies if it involves needles, but WHY the rest of that stuff? I moved to TX in the last year of Ann Richards term. I couldn't believe how things deteriorated under "W"! But I sure never heard about any restrictions like this. BTW, I was fortunate enough to move OUT OF TX. after about 6 years.

I'm wondering if this practice was ever given an apology, since this article was from 2 yrs ago.

I mean, we are living in a time of extremism.

I believe the chant was, "never again", but here we are … again.
