Florida neighborhood watchman shoots suspicious 16-year-old boy, neighbors say it’s ‘awesome’

investigators in Florida said this week that a Lake County neighborhood watch volunteer had a right to use deadly force after he shot a 16-year-old boy who he claimed was robbing a neighbor’s home.

...

Residents of the Lake County neighborhood told WFTV that most of people who lived there were armed. Resident Charlene Coomer called the shooting “awesome.”

---

The 16-year-old suspect was recovering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Investigators were trying to determine if he acted alone. Deputies said that the investigation was ongoing.

Regardless of whether or not race plays a factor here, what really screams out in this case and so many like it is these idiots have decided that the value of the life of that kid was LESS than the value of the neighbors television.

That is what is "awesome" to them.

These people are sick fucks, of course, but they are not alone.

“The witness went around, confronted him as he was coming out of the home, ordered him to stop, at which time the suspect refused, charged at the witness and the witness shot him one time,” Herrell said.

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT Sure he did. He charged you. Right.

Is it normal behavior to run at someone holding a gun on you? I know I sure wouldn't. Yet I keep hearing this as the reason someone shoots another person. I think the watchman is going to regret not "finishing the job" because I'll be interested to hear what the robber says about all this.

Not that anyone on this forum is stupid enough to need to be reminded on this, but if you see someone robbing a neighbors house, the proper action is to go home and call 911, not to get a gun and go after them.

or after the shot was fired?

I also wonder at what point the 911 call was made?

Neighbor shot some robbers who were exiting his adjoining property...

I think he went to court but was found justified...

I remember.

This was AFTER talking with police on the phone. They told him to NOT go out.

Joseph Gutheinz, a Houston attorney and member of the National Republican Lawyers Association, said: “I wonder if Joe Horn were black if he would be free tonight or in the Harris County Jail.” Speaking on the Harris County Grand Jury system, Gutheinz said: “It’s a sea of white faces that doesn’t look anything like the county.”
