http://www.ringoffireradio.com/2015/08/viewers-really-pissed-about-new-msnbc-lean-to-the-right-read-this-email-to-president-of-msnbc/The following loyal (or should we say former loyal) viewer of MSNBC sent the below email to Phil Griffin, President of MSNBC, expressing her disappointment with the demise of a once powerful Progressive voice in the media. Way to go Ms. Samelson!!!
VERY IMPORTANT: We hope our ROF audience will send their thoughts to Mr. Griffin at Phil.griffin@nbcuni.com. Please send us a copy of your email to info@ringoffireradio.com and we will post on our web site. No change ever occurs without there being a vocal response that is made public. We want MSNBC and the world to hear from you! You can view other ROF letters to MSNBC by clicking ROF Audience Letters to MSNBC.
Free Speech TV is the last safe haven for progressive news. Mike Papantonio, Farron Cousins, Thom Hartmann, Amy Goodman, Stephanie Miller, Bill Press, and David Pakman are on the air on FSTV every day, giving progressives the news that they need to hear, completely free from corporate influence. For more information, visit them online at www.FreeSpeech.org.

I wrote. I seldom watch much MSNBC anymore. I do watch FSTV if I watch any TV news at all. Pretty much given up on NPR which was once on all day in our house. Now only at shower time.

(14,449 posts)Changed it. That will be the response from the company most likely. Did you watch our old line up? What is a company to do if nobody is watching? Try something bold I guess. It won't work either. Probably best to shut the channel down if it is not making money.

(620 posts)MSNBC purposefully sabotaged their more liberal hosts and this is the result.

(9,148 posts)Perhaps follow up emails to MSNBC will be more descriptive.
I commend the writer on class, civility, and professionalism in making a very direct & true point.

(50,288 posts)"Dear Sir: I have been a viewer of MSNBC almost from day 1. There have been times when Ive waffled, namely the firing of Keith Olbermann, and times when Ive been very disappointed (the removal of Joy Reids informative show). Now Im afraid youve gone one step too far. Alex Wagners show was fabulous and no one can generate excitement over political issues like Ed Schultz. Why on earth would you cancel them? Yesterday I tuned in at 5 and there was Michael Eric Dyson. Hes a fine man and was a frequent guest on Eds show, but isnt quite up to par if you consider him a replacement for Ed. Luke Russert has been covering Alex Wagners hour. The young man is a fine reporter, but when it comes to filling an hour hes downright boring. For some strange reason youve pinned your hopes and dreams on Chuck Todd. I was trying to think if Ive ever heard anyone say something nice about Chuck Todd (other than his co-workers) and Ive come up empty handed. Its universally agreed hes put the nail in the coffin of Meet the Press. If you want to know why your ratings are low, its quite simple. Fox is free just about everywhere. I have to pay extra to get MSNBC in an upgraded satellite package. And it doesnt help having all those prison shows. If you expect to be watched as a news network, mealtime in cellblock 5 isnt going to cut it. Please consider what youre doing. You might try to emulate Fox in hopes of gaining viewers, but it wont happen. Viewers who want that kind of programming already have the real Fox for free. Sincerely, "

(23,664 posts)But any network that would keep Morning Joke, Chris Matthews, Andrea Mitchell, Puke Russert, and bring on Chunk Turd and Brian Williams isn't even worth arguing with. They have no idea WTF they're doing except its probably whatever Comcast tells them to do.
They aren't going to bring Ed back no matter how much bitching they hear.

(62,431 posts)It is Comcast, so what the hell did we expect? They are a right wing corporation which will certainly be backing whatever teabagger gets nominated. Their talent will be told there are certain subjects that are verboten and certain guests they must book.
But I thought I would go down fighting.

(2,427 posts)If you have a any streaming device or a smart TV just hit up the YouTube and watch TYT and others. I especially like TYT because the are prolific with their output and it is usually quite good. There are oodles of high quality shows on YouTube and other services for free. The only thing cable is good for anymore are live events/sports/breaking news.
Oh and Morning Joe - that's a pile..... Is Rachel the only decent one left?
Good luck to those writing letters though - but I am not sure they care at this point.
