I understand the Constitutional issues, but does President Obama have to leave office in Jan 2017?

Shouldn't there be a provision in the Constitution that allows for an additional term
if Republicans screw the world up so badly that things can't be completely fixed in 8 years?

The only problem is that the corporation has to be 35 years old.........I hope that no 35 year old or older corporation steals your idea.

If it's a President Clinton or a President Sanders or a President O'Malley taking over, I'm confident they'll try to keep things on the right track.

If it's a President Bush or President Walker taking over, time to go into defensive mode but that's the way the cookie crumbles. We've done it before and we've survived. We'll do it again.

If it's a President Trump taking over......it's Constitutional Convention time. Or move to Canada time.

But if they really really screw it all up bad he could be drafted.
Bad as they would like to they have not the power to go that far, collectively or other wise.

But the point of the change is to bring in someone who can accomplish what he couldn't. Who has different short comings than his administration.

Even if the 22nd Amendment were repealed under his term, he could not benefit from that.

If the repeal expressly provided that the current president was not excluded, he could run. From the text of the 22nd amendment:

But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

That language ensured that Truman could have run again in 1952 if he so chose. There's no reason language allowing a sitting president to run for a third term couldn't be added to a repeal.

prevent another FDR and the only 2 presidents they ended fucking over were Clinton and Obama. Washing was just a man and he wasn't infallible. There's nothing wrong with 3 or more terms.
