Rubio said it last night, and I have seen it on Facebook. So this is the religious RW new meme about abortion, Pro-Choice people are "barbarians". Is there anyway to have a dialog with people who say this?
I know they have been comparing abortion to slavery for years (Rode v Wade is the same as Dred Scott) but this is a new low.

(5,358 posts)when abortion is criminalized (even though it won't really happen). Because not only will it NOT stop abortions from happening, the number of abortion 'providers' will expand tremendously. I have yet to hear or read ANY "solution" to the criminalization of abortion that addresses the following:
> Organized crime outfits used to include abortion among their 'services' - and they'd be happy to do so again. Any trimester, any time, any way..as long as you pay.
> Semi-skilled hacks & freelancers would provide the service for the right price.
> Law enforcement at all levels will need to increase their budgets and manpower just to accommodate the ongoing search for underground abortion providers; to find out which pregnant women are potentially at risk for seeking abortions; to investigate all miscarriages to determine if they were 'legitimate' or not; to track purchases of pregnancy test kits to make sure the women using them follow through their potential pregnancies. Taxes will need to increase on many levels in order to pay for all this extra vigilance.
This is exactly how it would play out.

Chucklenuts Huckabee has already talked about surrounding clinics with the National Guard.

22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
So clearly, ending the life of an "unborn child" aka "her fruit depart from her" is not the same as ending a life. If it were then a life for a life would apply here.
In fact, the punishment is only a fine that the husband and judges determine. So what if it is the husband who ends the pregnancy? Does he demand that he pay a fine to himself?
It seems to me that the Bible is pro-choice, it is just that in those times they let the male decide. Now we believe that the woman should have that choice.
