It is painful to see this obviously damaged man being circled like a wounded animal. His eyes are so blank...

Killing the mentally ill by the state is really barbaric...it may be a different story during a violent attack situation, but in trial cases it really bothers me...

It does not bring the victims back to life. It does not even offer "closure" as has been studied. It may offer a sense of revenge but, while not a legal eagle, this is not the purpose of the legal code.

Surprisingly, I liked George Will's third reasoning: the death penalty does not deter these kind of horrific crimes.
