Trump on Megyn Kelly: Blood Coming Out of Her Eyes, Blood Coming Out of Her WhereverDonald Trump called into CNN tonight to continue complaining to Don Lemon about how mean Megyn Kelly was to him. He actually said, There was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.
He repeatedly said he has no respect for her, called her vastly overrated, dismissed her ridiculous questions, and basically crowed about how well he did while all his followers trashed her on Twitter.
As for that whole retweeting someone who called her a bimbo thing, Trump brushed it aside and said, Shes able to take care of herself. He bragged that he did Fox News a favor by doing the debate, and listed his grievances about other Fox Newsers.

(26,366 posts)the bizarre thing is that a couple of celebrities that I respect (George Takei being one) that have been on his TV show say he is actually quite charming most of the time. Clearly he just can't keep up a facade for long or these celebrities are piss poor judges of character.
jberryhill
(62,444 posts)He's perfectly charming. As long as you are 'nice' to him. He's very clear about that.
If you criticize him in any way, then you are not being nice.
The best moment of the debate for me was watching Trump's face while Kasich gave his 'we agree on the problems, we just have different solutions' homily. You could see the wheels turning in Trump's head to strain to understand a rational person speaking, while thinking "Is he making fun of me in some smarty-pants way?" And eventually nodding "Okay, that's fair."

3/10 x 2/5 = 0.3 x 0.4 = 0.12. At 300 million Americans give or take, my calculation rings in at a cool 36 million Americans who currently support Trump.
Such pedantry aside, we can also quibble over what constitutes an 'exceptional level of depravity.'
I found the numbers alarming enough to justify an apology to my students.

Today marks the 70th anniversary of yet another atrocity. School is not in session today, so won't be apologizing for this one.

(29,067 posts)Did they apologize to you for Pearl Harbor?...
Nah..I didn't think so.
Hell, Iris Chang, who wrote The Rape of Nanking, couldn't even get them to apologize for their atrocities in China.
AFAIK, Italy never apologized for Berlrsconi, another billionaire buffoon whom I understand was quite similar to Trump.
Maybe you just really enjoy eating humble pie, bro.
Thankfully, most of us do not.

GTFO.
whathehell
(29,067 posts)there's a small problem with your argument.
You cite your students ages and express indignation that I would "expect them to apologize for the actions of their government".
Well, King, for those very same reasons, you, unless you were living then, which I doubt, have no business apologizing for the actions of YOUR government at a time you weren't even born.
Get it now?

(33,688 posts)the more clinically imbecilic things this human obscenity says the higher he will rise in the polls. There is no bottom to the molecular stupidity of the Repuke primary electorate. The Freeper contingent worships this imbecile. He is their id unleashed. Hatred of everything not "them," unreason, total paranoia. Modern Republicanism in its triple-distilled essence.

(11,945 posts)The grosser he got, the more they cheered. Then he tried to tie it in with his opposition to political correctness, at which point I realized that quite a few Republican men are stuck in adolescence. Which actually explains a lot. Herman Cain had the same attitude, like in his ad where he was smoking a cigarette with a defiant little grin.
They see Democrats, with our regulations and such, as "nanny state" and themselves as defiant little boys.
This might explain the guns, Tea Party outfits, and confederate flags, too.
Sometimes I wonder what we look like to other countries.

(11,945 posts)Serving some nonobvious political purpose. This is what I hate about Republicans, they do not honor, nor in any way respect, the contract between the people and their elected government as spelled out in the Constitution. (11,945 posts)Someone I respect said that if you study the debate, you could make a case that Fox would prefer a Democratic win because their network gets many more viewers and thus rakes in more money under a Democratic presidency (b/c their viewers are in a constant state of fear and anger.)
Like I said, I really hate the way they are playing with us.

show how out of touch the GOP is with the citizens of our country.
Not to worry - the big money will go after him with both guns. They view him as a big threat to the establishment right-wing. The GOP knows that they could not win election as dog catcher without using the same old tired social and religious issues to get elected. Sadly for a majority of white people that is the case. We have it so much better than minorities and view our privileged lives as the status quo!
I have also seen the Democrats being moved further and further to the right in the last 35 years as the party has become more and more dependent on the $$$$ to get elected. Our country is almost unrecognizable from 1970's.

(5,810 posts)It is only sick, perverted minds that would take his comment and conclude he was saying Meghan was "hormonal" or just another hysterical bimbo. He has turned it around so WE and THE MEDIA are the ones claiming this. Taking offense at what he said. He is such a sick, deviant man and to think there are people who LIKE HIM and will vote for him strikes fear in my heart. We have sunk to a new low when the likes of this awful, hateful man can be taken seriously for a position of leadership.....for one second, much less the time he has had on the stage so far. I really don't know what to say that has not already been said about him and who it reflects on more. This terrible man? Or the people who follow and respect him?
