Maybe that makes for the rigidity.

The two of them look like Mr. and Mrs. Skeletor.
Maher is close behind.

I dunno, but in the sweepstakes for creepiness I'm happy to drop them all into that warm purple space where organic stuff ferments.

and she still looks weird. I told my husband I thought she looked like a witch. Scary.
But then Bill Maher had to get her to put the necklace she was wearing--a large crucifix--
under her dress because it was interfering with her body mike attached to the neckline of her dress.
She made a deal when she did it--like she was warding off the devil--towards Bill.

She is a very strange person.

why do women think this shit looks good - too much botox / fillers and you lose the PERSONALITY in your face - these gals all end up looking like the joker - and they look even worse when inevitably their age does catch up with them

I'd like to think that Trump cannot win the general election, given 25% support. But 25% support is plenty to win the GOP primaries.

Maher and his panel talked about Trump's "nonsense", but name a single GOP candidate who is talking about anything more specific, more coherent, and more plausible than Trump. They are all dipshits. Trump is just the dipshit with the most confidence, and Americans like that.

If a candidate doesn't have a majority of delegates in the first round of voting, the delegates are released from their pledges and can vote for whomever they want. That's where Trump's candidacy likely dies even if he makes it that far.

By the time that the primaries start, there will only be 6 or 8 serious candidates. If Trump is still on top, he will probably get more like 40% of the delegates. It will be very difficult for a person with 20% of the delegates to win the nomination over somebody with 40%.

I still think Jeb will be the nominee when all is said and done, but I wouldn't bet my house on it. Trump is not fading like Herman Cain. And remember, all of these other candidates have campaigns run by the Political Science morons who only know how to repeat the conventional wisdom inside the Beltway. Trump isn't playing that game. I don't think anybody knows how to take Trump on.

Indeed, it is a real dilemma. Trump is free to take all the potshots he wants because, well, because he is Trump and we already knew he was an asshole. Acting like an asshole doesn't hurt this guy. Maybe it even helps.

The GOP is the party of racists, religious wacko and generally stupid, scared people, all there to do the bidding of the ultra-rich. That is the primary voter. It seems to be the perfect match for Trump. There is no opportunity to appeal to reason with this base of voters. So I really don't know how you take him on. You just have to hope people get tired of trump before January.

The GOP deserves Trump. They have earned it.

the GOP wouldn't risk giving the nomination to someone who won less because of how bad it would look, and how bad for turnout it'd be. Hillary's landslide would not only be bigger, but their downballot would get demolished.

I think if its Trump, a lot of the GOP will actually be relieved; they have a death blow to the Tea Party when Trump loses; just as Dukakis' nomination, as opposed to Gore or someone who'd have fared better in 1988, opened the door for the Clintons to take back the WH in 1992 and begin the present era in which GOP only wins the national popular vote 1 time in the past 6 contests.

Sorry, it's just not gonna happen.

Trump is Sanders. Rabid support among a relatively small percentage of the electorate. Sound and fury is depth of support x percentage of electorate. Thing is, the election is still mostly about % of electorate. Voter turnout matters, but a "meh" vote = a "I'm burning for Bernie" or an "I'm all in for T. Rump--Tyrannosaurus Rump!" vote.

Getting that narrowness to broaden enough for long enough just won't happen, IMHO. In fact, the rabidness of the support is one hindrance.

Trump doesn't look quite like Sanders yet, but that's because it's Trump versus 16 others, most of whom aren't well known among an electorate that doesn't much care.

I agree that Trump will be the nominee.

I mean look at it, we fell hook line and sinker for Obama's bullshit...the only reason he got elected is because it was going to be "different" this time. Well it turned out that we were taken as he is way to far right on nearly everything he does. SO this wasted 7 years of "hope" will open the election up to "whomever" as we've all been had and it really does not matter. Just like Obama was a "statement", Trump will be another that says "who really gives a fuck, it's all rigged".

Imagine if you will a large American football stadium with a capacity of some 60,000 people.

There are no people anywhere inside it, only large monkeys, baboons and chimpanzees.

20,000 higher primates.

Inside the stadium are enormous caches of loaded Uzis, hand grenades, lengths of pipe, broken bottles and knives of all sizes.

The monkeys, baboons and chimps have all been ram-fed full of crystal meth and Red Bull.

Let us observe.

Bill Maher picked Rubio/Fiorina as the Republican ticket.

Following his monologue, the Real Time host predicted that Marco Rubio and Carly Fiorina would be the Republican Party’s 2016 presidential ticket, and fired another shot at Trump, who last year filed (and later withdrew) a $5 million lawsuit against Maher for a joke he made about his birth certificate.
