(26,268 posts)He is truly a hero, to me.
I was lucky enough to meet him with others I met on DU. it was pretty amazing. I was struck each time by his intense sense of purpose, seriousness and his gravitas --- einterspersed with jokes said with a straight face followed by a wonderful smile. Teresa was also absolutely wonderful. We lost a fantastic First Lady as well as President when he lost.
It is wonderful that he has worked to make the world more peaceful for Obama, the country and the world. He was an amazing person when he first became a public figure in the 1970s. Those same values are now pushing him to use his unusal talents as SoS.

(26,268 posts)She saw me wearing my 'Veterans for Kerry' button, and after the event she sought me out to make sure I got to meet him. This was about 2 days before he announced he would not be running, again, for President. None the less, I still have my button because he told me to be sure to hang on to it.
