And one that makes a lot of sense to me...she wanted to be able to have the convenience of doing things from her phone like many people take for granted in this age of technology.

I don't think that was the issue.

Suppose she "received and responded to an email from Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu," as suggested in the article. It would not be illegal for her to do so on her private server, because it would not be classified by the US government. But such a conversation would certainly be very sensitive, and having it released could be damaging and/or knowledge of it could be useful to other parties. It is absolutely unwise for her to be having that conversation on an improperly secured medium.
Further, official communications are supposed to be made in such a manner that they become part of the official record. Her private server bypassed that and had her doing official business "off the books."
And all she does is dance around with the legalities, ala' Nixon's, "It's not illegal if the president does it."

(5,811 posts)the FBI's counterintelligence unit at its DC headquarters is handling the matter. They are investigating classified emails sent TO HRC's private server. That tells me the problem is not HRC but an individual or individuals in the State Dept. This type of thing does not surprise me since I'm sure there are wingnuts who work for the feds.
