If HRC's regular email received classified material, that's a breach. The hosting doesn't matter.

I think a lot of people are misunderstanding something very basic here. Wherever Clinton's email account was hosted, be it on a private server or on State's server, it should absolutely never receive any classified material. The network partitioning the government uses is very serious. If you're reading classified material you can't even access the Internet on that machine.

No matter where Clinton's email was hosted, that email address should not have been sent classified material. That is the breach here, and I hope they get to the bottom of it. The location of the server is a red herring, frankly.

the FBI's counter intelligence unit is doing the investigation. The focus is on the sender.

Though obviously we should wait until the investigation completes.

and anonymous sources.

It is NOT uncommon for the decision to be made, years after the fact, for something to be retroactively classified. That may or may not have happened here.

But what she supposedly did was get emails in which other people were discussing a NEWS ARTICLE.

Do you think she should be punished because someone forwarded to her an email in which people were discussing a news article that mentioned drones?

I'm pointing out that the hosting has no bearing on this question.
