PREDICTION: Trump WILL be the GOP Nominee...

(this is POST PRIMARY STUFF)

He's become their worst nightmare and more. He's now got 'image' people working with him, to make him more palatable to the wider part of the GOP. The Scary thing is some of the things he's saying are 'progressive' and make sense. Some. He's still a asshat. But one that has the money to 'get it done'.

He will be the nominee... and if his 'image builders' do their work.. the general WILL be a fight, no matter WHO the Dem is.

As Bernie has told us. They can now buy elections. But all the moment in the world is not as powerful as an idea who's time has come. Bernie's ideas win.

There is a lot of time between now and the nomination. Trump still hasn't gotten above 25% of the likely voters. If he was a 40% now, I'd say, yeah he's got a real shot. As the field of clowns narrows, Trump's lead will disappear. Whoever Fox and the Koch's want to be the nominee will likely get it.

He'll go 3rd party and get the GOP group that worship him, and a good portion of the independents and those who say "there is no difference between the parties, plus a portion of Dems pissed that "their" candidate didn't get the nomination and will "teach them a lesson". That gets into some scary math...

... instead of running as an independent like Perot did then, splitting votes with Bush, and probably some votes with Clinton then too.

He's campaigned against the TPP like Perot did against NAFTA and appeals to certain right wing independents and others that aren't big fans of those bought by Wall Street, since he already is rich himself (much like Perot was then).

That's why he's a big threat if the Dem is viewed as part of the corporate oligarchy. Another reason in my book to nominate Bernie.

To him and his base "THEY" are defined by race, nationality and ethnicity.

His whole economic policy - other than eliminating corporate taxes and promoting right-to-work laws to break unions and lower wages - is targeted at foreigners, i.e. cutting immigration and raising tariffs. Those are popular ideas with the republican base.

I think Trump is too extreme and talks in so many platitudes that potential voters will eventually see through him. (Though I've been wrong before -- didn't think a whole lot of people would vote for W in 2004 either.)

Scott Walker has the backing of Koch money. Thom Hartmann says he's "very concerned about (Republican presidential hopeful) Scott Walker because he has the mentality of Richard Nixon and the agenda of Ronald Reagan."

Unless they find some dirty tricks, or some huge scandal he will remain the front runner, and the GOP will have to admit, they MADE HIM and he's not going away. I find him entertaining in away but a night mare if he ever became President. Still the GOP including the Koch Brothers are finding themselves in a position that unless they bribe every Republican voter, or find some way to cheat via the voting machines, they will find this guy standing at the very end. They could even ban him from the Republican convention, but that would make the Republican voters even more giddy at voting for him in the end.

As people drop out of the race, the wingnut percentage - which is HUUUUUUGE (couldn't help myself) - will gravitate to Trump. Jeb, for all intents and purposes, has already crashed and burned. Doesn't have a chance in hell. "The Donald" will make quick work of the dimwit Walker. How hard can it be? This is going to be an election comedians will talk about until the end of time.

Trump keeps the other clowns from getting traction and the establishment Republicans will get behind Kasich now that Bush is slipping.

Kasich is waiting in the wings, hoping that Bush falls on his ass. He does sound, of all of them, like the adult in the room.

Trump is a red-faced, bloviating blowhard. People get a kick out of him. They love the way he "Gives 'em what-FOR!" But no one wants that asshole representing the greatness of America on the world stage. He's a clown.

Money can buy a lot, but it can't buy respectability, and he doesn't have any of that (he doesn't have taste, either, decorating all his real estate like a house of ill repute--but that's another story!).

or if this is just a big ego trip for him. If he were the nominee and won the presidency (heaven forbid!), wouldn't he have to give up control of his global business empire? That could man forfeiting millions in endorsement deals and putting his empire at risk?

He's sort of like a meteor right now, flashing across the night sky. He'll burn out quickly enough.

More to the point, I don't think he has the attention span to do all that it takes to run for office. Any office, but running for the Presidency probably takes anywhere from 28 to 30 hours a day. Which is why it's so grueling.

Trump is used to ordering people around, to treating them like shit, to never taking consequences for his actions. Plus, once Republicans actually start to look at him, what he's done, his vast ignorance of how our government and constitution actually work, they'll dump him for someone more reliable in their eyes.

Plus, even though he's running as a Republican, he has zero experience in dealing with Congress. People have tried to say Bernie Sanders isn't a viable candidate because he's been an Independent all these years, completely overlooking his years as Mayor of Burlington, then as a Congressman, now as a Senator. He has worked within the system, while maintaining a lot of real independence.

Trump wouldn't have a clue. He's probably under the impression that if he becomes President, he gets to order everyone else around, and they must do his bidding, as if they would all be his employees. He's in for a giant surprise.
