West Virginia Woman Who Stepped Between Cop and Dog to Stop Cop From Killing It Still Facing Charges

http://photographyisnotacrime.com/2015/08/west-virginia-woman-who-stepped-between-cop-and-dog-to-stop-cop-from-killing-it-still-facing-charges/

A West Virginia woman who stood between a cop and a dog he wanted to kill before she was thrown to the ground, arrested and charged with obstructing is in need of a lawyer....

When police finally returned the phones, she was relieved to discover that the one video of her arrest, recorded by her husband from inside the home, had not been deleted.

The video is not the best quality but it shows Cook walking onto her father-in-law’s property when Buddy, the family dog, begins barking and wagging its tail.

Cook, apparently in fear for his life – and not taking into account that Buddy was leashed – pulled out his gun and aimed it at the dog.

from the above article......

....." the public defender that had been assigned to her case is married to the state trooper who supervises the trooper who arrested her back in May.

A clear conflict of interest, which probably explains why public defender Lori Snodgrass kept encouraging Tiffanie Hupp to take a plea deal while never revealing that she was married to West Virginia State Police Sergeant First Class Bradley Cooper – who just happens to be trooper Seth Cook’s boss – the rookie cop who arrested her. "

The whole story is ugly.

I don't know what they're teaching these cops, but it seems to be producing police officers who are afraid of everything. How can the police protect us when all they worry about is their own personal safety? If they regard everyone and everything as a threat, what's the point in having them?

That seems to be what is being taught.

They are armed cowards.

I am sick of hearing how 'dangerous' their jobs are.

They aren't even listed in the Top Ten most dangerous jobs.

I'm sick of the corrupt justice system.

I'm sick of the killing of unarmed innocent people.

I'm sick of the killing family pets.

The police are now more dangerous than the criminals.

That is a sad fact.

This country is imploding !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

regarding dogs? I think it is essential to have that information because that
may be the issue that should be debated in court. And as we've seen, there are other problems in police behavior/training that have contributed to many incidents of inappropriate reactions by police that should also be looked into in all states.
It's time to look at police training nationwide.

In this particular case there seems to be a few responses by police AND others within the department that show blatant disregard for the law that any decent lawyer should find easy to prove. I hope they find one to take on these bozos.

this lady the best attorney on this planet.

I have zero respect for the police or justice system in this country.

I don't think the police should be able to have police dogs

or police horses either.

They have proven time and time again they have no respect

for the life of humans or dogs.

I bet they abuse their police dogs and abuse their police horses.

The police have become more dangerous than the criminals.

They have the numbers, the weapons, the private prisons, and the

justice system in their corner.

They may be you, but they are not me.

Elect the correct people. Is this suppose to be amusing ?

If not, it is clearly naive.

The article clearly shows how the justice system is part of the problem.

We know the politicians are corrupt.

How many presidential candidates are being investigated or getting prosecuted ?

How many politicians have criminal records. Have you seen Darrell Issa's criminal record ?

How many are currently in prison ?

The Republican and the Democratic politicians got us into this

mess with their tough stance on crime and their war on drugs (cannabis; the evil weed).

We only have two parties.

Who the hell exactly are we suppose to elect ???

This is not an attack on you.

I am sick of watching this country slip into the abyss.

Her public defender has no business being assigned Cook's case due to conflict of interest. A complaint should also be filed against the Public Defender's Office for making the assignment.

The Public Defender's Office might find themselves into a civil suit if Cook sues the police department.

The arresting officer is Seth Cook, his supervisor is Bradley Cooper who is married to the public defender Lori Snodgrass.

Ms Hupp should contact the ACLU. This whole thing is a series of violations of her rights and those of her family members. The officer entered the house without a warrant and confiscated every electronic device - again without a warrant. It took six weeks to get them back and that was not until a password was provided for one of the phones that was locked - obviously they wanted the password for their illegal search of the phone.

a man to death in front of witnesses in California I believe. The man was begging for his life. At least 2 of the witnesses got out their phones and filmed it. The cops actually refused to let either citizen leave their homes until they forked over their cell phones.

If it had been me I would have 1) saved copies of the video to a computer and the clout, 2) uploaded the video and posted it on Youtube & Facebook and then 3) emailed it out to every paper, TV station, the ACLU and as many people I could think of before even considering handing my phone over. My goal would be to make it totally impossible for the cops to make the video disappear.

There was another incident where a guy used his phone to video a cop beating on someone. The cop took the phone away from the guy after deleting the video. Unfortunately for the cop, the video had already uploaded to the cloud.

I truly think that the police are the biggest threat to the safety of the citizens in this country.

I will get one of the apps that automatically uploads video to the cloud - immediately.

Recording misdeeds is important. Preserving those recordings is as important.

The slide towards fascism that I see in this country is very worrying. Police abuse of power is only one part of the trend.

If a cop came onto my property and threatened one of my dogs.

I would rather be arrested than lose my dogs.
