Spencer Stone leaves hospital
U.S. serviceman Spencer Stone departs the Clinique Lille Sud, which specializes in hand injuries, in Lesquin, France Photo: Reuters
Pictures just in show Spencer Stone, one of the American heroes, leaving hospital in Lille. He looks a bit battered and bruised but otherwise in reasonable shape. Earlier, his mother said he had surgery on Saturday morning to repair some of the damage to his fingers and would need physiotherapy to get full movement back.
eta: Here's how he looked right after the attack, in the wheelchair:

I'm very glad all the injuries were treatable and no one was killed

(13,191 posts)If this falls under the Global war on terror - if so, an Airman's Medal and a Purple Heart are in order.
And I agree, a meritorious promotion would be appropriate

(28,942 posts)The Airman's Medal certainly - heroic action in a noncombat situation, usually life saving which this definitely was.
