As much as I like Joe Biden...

he does have problems as a candidate.

Most recently, he was joked about for his leering at Ashton Carter's wife...which was creepy! He's 72 years old and looks like a dirty old man to a lot of people....

http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2015/02/17/387035292/joe-biden-gets-a-bit-too-close-to-new-secretary-of-defenses-wife

Then, there is the plagiarism from 1988...not only during the campaign when he lifted remarks from Neil Kinnock, the British politician, but there are also accusations of plagiarism in law school.

And Trump has already picked up on this... and he could ratchet up it up anytime. And he wouldn't be alone...

Anyway, I'm not really excited about Biden muddying things up more at this point. He knows a lot about foreign policy, but that might not be enough to light up a campaign...and he's fared poorly in prior runs.

Truth is I really can't see him as President. He's not nearly as bad as any in the Clown Car, but he's not our best.

his shitty, shitty treatment of Prof. Hill and his kissass pandering to Clarence Thomas.

It's going to star Kerry Washington, with Greg Kinnear as Biden. The woman who was supposed to play Scooter Libby's wife (who used to work for Biden--ain't that peculiar) broke her leg so they are now recasting that part.

Biden was at a crossroads during the Thomas confirmation hearing, and he took the wrong damn path. There are plenty of people who will take issue with that--it's not a situation that improves with time.

I'm with you, MADem. I haven't forgotten how disappointed I was with his behavior throughout the hearings. And he's more conservative than Hillary and voted for the IWR, just like Hillary and Kerry.

(the often avuncular Wendell Pierce) will have to get his nasty on and become Clarence Thomas! And Greg Kinnear, I suspect, will NAIL Biden. Thus far, the casting I've seen is nothing short of superb.

The woman who plays 'Mrs. Scooter Libby' (who used to be a Biden staffer, and who did a lot of the groundwork for Biden) is being replaced because she broke a leg; don't know who they are sliding into that role.

Eric Stonestreet is appearing as a lobbyist. Jenifer Hudson will play Angela Wright, the witness who could corroborate Anita Hill's testimony--and who Biden REFUSED to call, even though she was waiting on the bench. He lied and said she didn't want to testify, too, IIRC.

It's going to be quite the flick, I suspect. I think it will get a massive amount of buzz. HBO isn't spending this kind of scratch for something that will splash and sink.

I have no interest in a Biden candidacy, and see little hope that he could win the GE, due to his vote on the Iraq War. I really think that if the Democrats want to Win, we need to nominate someone who was wise enough to oppose that tragedy from day one.

Clarence Thomas nomination (that was a close vote, and he could have swayed it) and his bankruptcy bill vote (while he had a child working for MNBA).

The Iraq War vote was a foregone conclusion. It wasn't even close.

This will get dragged up--it's one thing when you're running for 2nd fiddle, but if you want to play first violin people are going to scrutinize:

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/mbna-paid-bidens-son-as-biden-backed-bill/

A son of Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden was paid an undisclosed amount of money as a consultant by MBNA, the largest employer in Delaware, during the years the senator supported legislation that was promoted by the credit card industry and opposed by consumer groups.

Barack Obama's presidential campaign said Biden helped forge a bipartisan compromise on the measure, which is now law and makes it harder for consumers to obtain bankruptcy protection in the courts.

MBNA's consulting payments to Hunter Biden, first reported by The New York Times, followed his departure in 2001 from the company, where he had been an executive.

Obama opposed the bankruptcy law, enacted in 2005, while Biden supported it.

Tue Aug 25, 2015, 06:35 AM

Anyone who's still going to hold stuff from the '88 campaign against him, after decades more in the senate and 8 years as veep, isn't going to vote for him anyway in a general, and would likely vote GOP, no matter who the Dems run.

And the GOP can't bring it up and be taken seriously, once they excused Rand completely.

As for the "dirty old man" thing, it's a load of nonsense.

And, besides, what's the alternative? The Clintons? Sanders and his weird satire article?

Or on the GOP side, Trump and his trophy wives he trades in every time one gets old enough to have a wrinkle?

WASHINGTON—At approximately 2 a.m. Thursday morning, White House sources confirmed that Vice President Joe Biden was forcibly pushed out the rear door of a moving 1980 Lincoln Town Car onto the curb outside 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. “Whoa, those hombres were not fucking around,” said Biden, assuring a small group of onlookers that he was fine as he climbed to his feet and dusted himself off. “Being in the hole 50-large ain’t no joke, but no need to worry about me. Not the first time I’ve had my ass in a sling. And if there’s anything Diamond Joe knows, it’s how to rake in some quick green.” At press time, witnesses confirmed seeing Biden walking out of the Oval Office with Rembrandt Peale’s 1823 portrait of George Washington tucked into his jacket.

His EGO wants it, but in this day and age, especially for a vp w the advantaged starting point, this is late to enter.

If he was serious about it, if he was ready to go all out, he would have been laying the ground work a year ago, and been in it, uo and running aprilish like the others.

I would hate for him to win the nomination, or effect the outcome relative to either hill or bernie if he isnt ready to go 101 percent at this for the next 16 months.
