The Passing of a Great Myth-Cons Start to Eat Their Own (or admit the truth)

As everyone is aware, for 23 years, the right wing, the Republican Party, the Bush Family, Dan Quayle, and others, as well as some (but too many) on the far-left, have peddled the myth that Ross Perot "spoiled" a Bush Sr. victory in 1992, that Perot "split the conservative vote," and "elected Clinton. The media has been more than content to peddle this myth almost unchallenged for almost a generation because of its hatred and jealousy of the Clintons. Not to mention its story value.

This lie has no empirical, statistical, historical, or factual basis, and has been debunked before. I have had a thread on this, with plenty of unimpeachable corroborating data to boot, tho at times I've still had to shove the fact in front of the faces of some around here (I won't call anyone out). Brave progressives, like Rachel Maddow and Steve Kornacki have led the charge in the MSM. Election expert Nate Silver and Harry Enten also agree.

Something crazy has happened tho: some conservatives (few, but notably more than usual) are starting to buck the Republican Party line (essentially the Bush family line bc their vets are in the RNC, Fox, etc.). So next time your conservative or Republican friends start trying to discredit the Clintons, blame Perot, or try to make another Bush their nominee, you can show them:

Soon the Perot-myth will no longer be mainstream, but will be confined to the fringe of conspiracy theories. Given center-left progressive and increasing conservative attacks on the myth, the publicity of the data, passing this myth should be seen no different as Clinton-hating conspiracy, and treated as such on here and elsewhere. Of course many Republicans will cling to it, but less and less as Jeb looks bad, because the myth is really just cover for the Bush family. It was also cover to push far-right policies because the idea of Perot as "spoiler" was supposed to "prove how conservative" America supposedly was.

The media should be ashamed how this lie kept going for so long. Aside from baseless attacks on the Clintons in all aspects, the Perot-myth shows no respect for math, history, or peoples' intelligence.
