I would have gone down there and waved that rebel flag until my arms fell off. It would be worth it to see them leave, as long as they took the haters with them.

Secession effort in Colorado pancaked not long ago, much to our embarrassed relief. My county's commissioners spearheaded the effort. As the commish who fancies the idea of one-party-rule put it, the constitution guarantees the right to "suck-cede" (that's how she always pronounced it), and in that they were "suck-cessful". Ick.

My state representative here in Tennessee is a rabid, born-again, evangelical, former military man. His most recent antic was his un-suck-sessful attempt to impeach Republican governor Bill Haslam over his acceptance of the Supreme Court decision on gay marriage.
