Remember when conservatives were worried about "freedom"

The one thing every conservative agreed on was Obama was some type of dictator making America less free. He's a funny kind of dictator that won two elections and has to deal with a hostile court and congress that refuses to do most things he asks, but hey "freedom" its what the GOP is all about. Also odd for a dictator, Obama will be leaving after his second term and if those GOP candidates didn't really know he wasn't a dictator do you think 17 GOP candidates would be running to replace him? The 2016 race has allowed them to make a stand for defining Republican style freedom as opposed to Obama freedom. Apparently GOP freedom consists of walling us all into America behind a large thick wall (Walker, Trump). A wall to the north a wall to the south and I imagine eventually the east and west. Woot freedom. But wait a wall isn't enough. We need to revoke citizenship for those inside the wall that aren't American enough (Trump +field). So goodbye "birth right" citizens and hello correct citizens. How do we know who's correct? Well, we could track them like Fed Ex tracks a package (Christie). Who doesn't want the same basic freedom of a Fed Ex package? I know what your thinking. The government tracking my every movement might not be enough to make sure everyone inside the wall is American enough. Luckily we will make sure they also have American "values" and "morals". (Jindal). That's right the new Americans with their rock N roll and their long hair might not be morally American enough. They're not like our ancestors were when they came to America illegally. These ones don't think American. The GOP will make sure those inside the wall all think the right way. So there is your GOP brand of freedom. A walled compound in which the occupants will be continuously monitored for anti-American movements and thoughts. Anyone found not to be American enough will be tracked down, have their citizenship revoked, and then be deported. Woot Freedom. That's so much better than life now under Obama

I agree though. This Free Speech fanaticism that has sprung up over the last several years, I just can't take it seriously.

It's like the freedom in general and also the debt. I don't remember anyone talking about freedom, free speech, or the debt befrore January 2009.

Well, except for the liberals, but who cares about them, right?
