Today on Diane's show...
If you can give it a listen, I'm sure it will be a good one.
Unfortunately this will be another tragedy where nothing changes policy wise.

(10,345 posts)the other day when they were talking about Trump she seemed somewhat excited about him. I know she's supposed to be unbiased but... ugh... you guys listen to it, there is a line she said that needed no context.
soon after they got a caller that literally said "so you guys are talking about all the candidates except one I've noticed. everyone has noticed because there's kind of a media blackout on him. Bernie Sanders! what do you guys think of him?"
that made them finally talk about him. it's so fucking obvious how they avoid the mention of his name, no matter how relevant he is.

(18,318 posts)Entire "On Point" broadcast (1 hr) on NPR this A.M. was on "Gun Violence," with all the guests known figures in the gun-control outlook; even the callers (few) were uniformly calling for a variety of controls with (as expected) no counter-arguments against Hemenway, et al. And that 33,000 figure of gun deaths? NO MENTION that 2/3 were from suicide, yet most of the discussion -- esp. from the moderator -- was centered on homicides.
I have no problem with advocacy journalism, but NPR should devote an hour to the "other side." Journalists know full well that 2A advocates are a highly motivated and widespread movement which doesn't pass up opportunities to comment on gun matters.
