I would like to assure our Native Alaskan brothers and sisters that not all Ohioans are racist boors. I am deeply embarrassed by Portman's and Boehner's ridiculous and rude statements.

(15,384 posts)That our explainer-in-chief has done it again, folks. He just couldn't not leave the great state of Alaska alone and renamed Mount McKinley, named after one of our greatest astronauts - who stands up there with other great ones like Lance Armstrong and... Anyway he went and decided to call it Denali, which is weird since there's already a river in the great country of Africa called that. So much for American exceptionalisticism. If he absolutely had to rename it, he could have at least come to me as I'm a great named of things. Just like ask my five children - Keyfob, Cornstarch, Icetray, Pavement, and Rucksack - if I am.
