Sen. Portman and Speaker Boehner embarass Ohio with their racism against Native Alaskans.

"Ohio Sen. Rob Portman said on Sunday he was "disappointed" by President Barack Obama's decision to revert Mt. McKinley's name to its Alaska Native name, Denali."

"House Speaker (and fellow Ohioan) John Boehner (R) said Monday he was "deeply disappointed" by the President's decision."

I would like to assure our Native Alaskan brothers and sisters that not all Ohioans are racist boors. I am deeply embarrassed by Portman's and Boehner's ridiculous and rude statements.

I think I will give their offices a call using that point if you do not mind.

What a great response to their idiocy!

That our explainer-in-chief has done it again, folks. He just couldn't not leave the great state of Alaska alone and renamed Mount McKinley, named after one of our greatest astronauts - who stands up there with other great ones like Lance Armstrong and... Anyway he went and decided to call it Denali, which is weird since there's already a river in the great country of Africa called that. So much for American exceptionalisticism. If he absolutely had to rename it, he could have at least come to me as I'm a great named of things. Just like ask my five children - Keyfob, Cornstarch, Icetray, Pavement, and Rucksack - if I am.

8. The native peoples already had a name for it, Denali.

"The statement went on to note that McKinley had never set foot in Alaska."

It is the right thing to do too.

Bombay, India has been given back its correct name, Mumbai.

We no longer have Peking, China but Beijing, China.

The native people of the Great Plains were never Sioux but the Lakota.
